The Letters of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Vol. II
Translated by Lady Wallace from Ludwig Nohl’s collection · London, 1865
Letter 188 · Vienna, 13 February 1782 · printed pp. 122–124; routine on p. 123
Passage: Letter 188 · p. 123 · opening of the daily schedule
Timing & context
The original has his hair already dressed by six, and himself fully dressed by seven. This is not a hairdresser appointment starting at six.
The letter describes repeated habits rather than one particular day. Concerts sometimes displaced evening composition; their hours are not supplied. The displayed dinner and evening blocks select one documented pattern.
His routine described to Nannerl on 13 February 1782, with variable dinners, concerts and late working hours.
